So, I’ll admit that I didn’t get “put on” to Snoh Aalegra until about late 2017, while listening to a playlist that Apple Music created for me. I later recognized her music featured in season 3 of HBO’s Insecure.
Snoh has an edgy, raspy alto-voice. It’s sexy and delicate —and Yes, my point of view may seem bias since I’m an alto myself. However, her simplicity, creative lyrics and talent stand alone, and speaks just enough for her. Not to mention, she sings about relatable, real-life emotions and the drama buildup of situationships (pun intended).
Ugh, Those Feels Again is a great followup to her 2017 Feels album, and reflects today’s music sound and expression surrounding love and relationships.
This whole album gives a consistent groove but Whoa, Toronto, Situationship, and Find Someone Like You are my top favorites.
I can relate to the feels described in each of these tracks.
Can’t wait for her to make it back to Chicago with this musical presentation.
It’s been a good Monday.
Have a great week.
