Monday Music :: Lalah Hathaway — Honestly

“You used to be my heartbeat, your heart was made for me… and now, I’m not so sure, call this a lesson learned”

New music from the daughter of THE legendary Donny Hathaway (and singer of the social justice song, “Someday we’ll all be free”… Lalah Hathaway.

Lalah has paved her own way for the past couple decades, and she just released her latest album, Honestly.  One of my favorite songs on this album is “Honestly”

This single sends messages of love and  sheds light on social injustice.  For a fun spin, it’s even infused with a bit of “super Mario” techno sound and a dab of soul in it; actually, that’s the sound for most of the album.

Some of my other album favorites are: Call on Me, Change ya Life and Won’t Let Go

Lalah is a creative soul.
