Chicago Food Truck Festival 2017!

Today was a good day…

“I came, I saw, I conquered.”

Surely, this quote from Julius Caesar is appropriate to describe my first-ever experience at south loop’s Chicago Food Truck Festival.

Overall, the crowd felt similar to that of the Taste of Chicago, just on a smaller scale.

Donuts, jerk chicken, pizza, pork, cupcakes, fried chicken, funnel cakes, pierogi, burgers, lobster and so much more was cooked up at this year’s festival.

With a little over 40 food trucks to choose from, and the mixture of food aromas, my decisions felt impossible. But, after seeing so many people pass by with The Cajun Connoisseur, I knew it was a must-try.

Funny thing… A lady approached me and asked had I ever tried Cajun Connoisseur before and if I hadn’t, I should try it because “it was off the chain”. I laughed at her heartfelt expression and shameless “plug”, then told her that it was already on my radar.

Needless to say, I proceeded to TCC’s line and resorted to one of my favorite food combos — cajun shrimp and cheesy grits…Miss lady was right. It was bomb!

I also visited Jerk, and all I can say is they believe in keeping it spicy in the kitchen. That Jerk chicken was quite tasty.
